The Simon Grey Collective

Debut LP from Simon Grey ‘Pressing Matters’ + The SG Collective

Once in a while, an album comes along that truly innovates and defies generic forms. Simon Grey’s (‘The Galactica Suite’, ex Incognito ) “Pressing Matters” has been described as just that—a major statement on the international Future Jazz and groove scene—featuring guests such as Calvin Rogers, Paula Champion, Robin Mullarkey (Jacob Collier), Nate Werth, Jason ‘JT’ Thomas, and Michael League ( Snarky Puppy, Bokanté ).
The project eventually caught the attention of prestigious US label GroundUP Music, and the Australian keyboardist and producer has since joined the family as their latest artist. The LP is set for release in 2025, preceded by the singles “Run & Hide” (feat. Tony Momrelle) and “Mamas Cookin’” (feat. Munir Zakee & Michael League).
Bringing this intricate music to stage was always the holy grail. A filmed project launch in an old Hamburg cinema followed, and the project is now touring with a seven-piece live band plus vocal guests including Tony Momrelle, taking the compositions to unexplored places every night.
